Whitekirk Community Company raises funds to purchase the Village Hall

Following our "Tin Hut Appeal" campaign on JustGiving.com, we are delighted to announce that we have successfully raised the additional funds we needed to supplement the grant awarded to us by the Scottish Land Fund, and are now able to purchase the Village Hall from the Church of Scotland for the community.

We are immensely grateful to everyone who has contributed so generously to helping us secure the future of this essential community hub for generations to come.

Once the purchase is complete, we will of course need to continue our normal cycle of maintenance and improvement – not least in relation to much-needed repairs to the roof and external timbers – so we will continue to raise funds to cover the ongoing costs of these works. If you would like to support our efforts by contributing to our fundraising campaign despite our initial JustGiving target having been met, your donations will be gratefully received.

Whitekirk Community Company Secure Scottish Land Fund Grant for Village Hall Purchase

We're delighted to announce that the Scottish Land Fund has awarded us a grant of £39,500 towards the purchase of the village hall from the Church of Scotland.

The grant will allow the community to preserve our wonderful hall for generations to come, and provides a platform on which we will continue to add to the many improvements we have made to the building over the last 10 years.

We still have some funds to raise to meet the cost of purchase, so please keep supporting our events!

More details are available in this press release.
